About Our Society
Christianity, and for that matter, the existence of chapels does not happen by chance and that of Rev. Gaddiel Acquaah Memorial Methodist Church, Ntankoful Society, cannot be an exception. It has its ups and downs, proud moments and moments of shame and ridicule. It has gone through persecutions in various forms but we thank God – the Owner of the Church, for success and triumph.
The Beginning
The Methodist Society which is now known and called Rev. Gaddiel Acquaah Memorial Methodist Church, Ntankoful was started by Bro. Paul Cudjoe in the 1970s. The worship Centre was one of the classrooms (Primary 6 Class) of the Ntankoful Primary School. While worshipping in the classroom, the Church acquired a plot of land some few yards away from the school at a place popularly called ‘Ekukrom’. Since resources were not readily available for the start of the project (chapel building), we kept weeding on the plot till one Mr. Mustapha returned from nowhere and secured a plot closer to that of the church.
In order to have access to his plot Mr. Mustapha created a road by a caterpillar through the church’s plot and divided it into two halves. Later development made it impossible for the church to continue owning the plot and so it was lost for good.
